Domain Name Filter

Do you often work with large lists of domain names trying to find if there are any good names buried in there? Domain Name Filter is a Windows software program that allows you to extract good domain names from large lists. There is nothing special about this software, but it is the kind of tool you really would love to have around.
Note: Domain Name Filter is not a whois lookup software. In fact, it doesn't need or use your internet connection because it really is not meant for that purpose.

Domain Name Status Reporter

Domain Name Status Reporter is a new freeware tool from Softnik Technologies that will allow you to monitor the domain name status of global top level domains. The supported domains include Com, Net, org, Edu, Info and Biz.
The following parameters are extracted by the software.
Expiry Date.
Created Date.
Last Updated Date.
Status (Active, Registrar-Hold, etc.) A list of all domain status codes is available.
Registrar Name.
Authoritative whois server for the domain.

Domain Name Std

Mozzle Domain Name Std is totally FREE (no nags, no ads, no spyware) and includes good basic domain name searching functionality: 3 searches: Simple for basic word combinations, Advanced for control over word grouping and positioning, and Detail for domain name whois details. Optional hyphens in the domain name. Set limits on the number of words and characters in the domain names.
Domain Name Std supports 539 domains including .com, .biz, .info, .us and all country-code domains and their sub-domains (.de, .com.au, .co.uk, and so on), and support custom word lists, exporting and printing search results.

TaFWeb Whois

With the advent of country codes, finding out who owns a particular domain name has become quite tricky. In fact for some countries it's next to impossible. Normally programs such as TaFWeb Whois rely upon a service provided by the various domain name registrars called a "whois" service (hence the name of the software). While this is usually the most efficient way of getting the information, not all country code registrars provide this service. In many cases, however, they do provide a web-based service. TaFWeb Whois is unusual in combining both methods of getting the required information. Where a "whois" server is available it will use it. Where it isn't, and a web-based service is provided, it will use that. TaFWeb Whois is probably the most comprehensive "whois" tool available at present. It can, of course, also handle IP numbers as well as domain names.

URL Discombobulator

Lookup the IP address(es) associated with any valid domain name. Or lookup the domain name associated with any IP address (if the owner of the IP address has added the corresponding PTR record in the DNS server authoritative for the IP address range). As a bonus, the program generates alternate "shrouded" URLs for any web site, and can display the ASCII Code table.

WhoisView

WhoisView is a freeware software tool for finding the owner of an IP block or domain name. The main feature of WhoisView is its simplicity. Type in a host name or IP address and it will retrieve the ownership information by digging through various authoritative whois servers. WhoisView will find information all other similar tools are unable to or don't bother to locate. There are no complicated options. You may specify additional whois server for country code domains if required. The software may be minimized to system tray.
WhoisView may be used to find information like:
Who owns a domain name.
Who owns a specified IP address block.
Who is the web hosting provider for a website.
Who provides the DNS, Email handling, etc for a domain.
