Freeware FTP Clients Programs

Once you have created your web pages, you need a way to upload them to your web server. To do that you need to use an FTP client program. Here are some good freeware FTP client programs to help you upload your files to your web server.

DropUpLoad

DropUpLoad is a very light, simple, strong and usefull Upload spooler for FTP management. It goes over connection errors and finishes the job even in pretty bad conditions. No installation required. Copy the DropUpLoad.exe file on your disk and double-click on it. You can create as many servers as you want. They will appear in a combo box on the top of the DropUpLoad window. Then, select a server, and drop your file on the window. The file will be added to the spool listing and the upload will be done as soon as possible regarding your connection and the server availability. Each file can have a different destination if you change server between each drop.

FTP Commander

FTP Commander is simple and easy to use. It's really the bare minimum with no extra frills or thrills. It offers a no-nonsense interface consisting of two side-by-side local computer and FTP server panels. The latter contains a list of about a dozen pre-set FTP servers. It's easy as pie to establish a connection. All you have to do is select the server you want on the list and push the Connect button. Pre-configuring a list of most frequently accessed servers will make your life even easier. An application also enables users to execute two-way file exchanges and activate multiple downloads. FTP Commander also makes it possible to run programs located on local disks, or view documents. The program occupies far less space on hard drives and RAM than other similar paid programs. It also allows you to delete, rename and and copy files, create and delete directories in the FTP server and work in command line mode. A session log file is also available. The program is free for personal, educational and non-commercial use and does not contain any annoying ad banners.

ftpClient

This is a ftp client software. Using this software, files can be transferred from Linux/Unix ftp servers to windows environment. Enter server ip address, username and password to connect to the ftp server. After connection is established, go to server dialog to put or get a file from ftp server. To get a file, click on the file to be ftped from server and select a file in the windows environment. To put a file, click on the From button, and select the file to be ftped to the server. File can be ftped either on binary mode or text mode.
